London Calling

With fashion weeks for the fall 2009 collections in every major city right around the corner, London has caught our attention with two different eco-fashion events. The official London Fashion Week, 20-25 February 2009, will host the 6th season of Estethica. Started by the British Fashion Council, Esthetica focuses on education about fairtrade, eco and ethical fashion design.  This year’s participants include Amazon Life, Anatomy, Annie Greenabelle, Article 23, Beyond Skin, CDC – Elena Garcia, CDC – Tammam, Ciel Organic, Convoy Apparel/Prophetik, Deborah Lindquist, EFF, EJF, Edun, Enamore, Fifi Bijoux, From Somewhere, G= 9.8 Sophie Young, Ignes, IZZY LANE, Junky Styling, Lunar, Makepiece, Mark Liu, Minna, Mycoanna, Nahui Ollin, Noir, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Oxfam, People Tree, Pibiones by Antonello, Revamp, Sonya Kashmiri, Stewart + Brown, Terra Plana, & Veja.

ethical pure to debut @ pure London

Pure London showing from 8-10 February 2009 for the first time will have an entirely ethical/environmental portion of their show. Ethical Pure will make its debut inviting back a few sustainable brands that previously showed in Pure London, as well as some new labels on the green scene. With support from the Ethical Fashion Forum, as well as the Environmental Justice Foundation, Ethical Pure has been created in response to the rise in Pure’s visitors stocking ethical brands. Ethical Pure will feature several seminars as well as the clothing brands Alchemist, Amana, Brittinger, EFF, EJF, Enamore, Ethos Paris, Frank & Faith, Ideo, IZZY LANE, Kolam, Makepiece, Nomads Clothing, odd-Organic Design Dose, People Tree, Roshanak Salim, Sweet Blossom, Wellicious and aceessory/footwear brands Artisan Life, Aura Que, Cocowai, El Naturalista, Envirosax, Kazuri, Kisiki, Littleearth, Lotusfeet Accessories, Lowie, Made, Makki, Pachacuti, Pelcor, Simple, The Rubber Cow Co. Look for some nice coverage after the shows!
