Footprints for the New Year
When it comes to Eco-Fashion, one of the fastest growing areas is shoes…Yay! While we knew the selection was decent, as we did a little extra research for this article, we were definitely pleasantly surprised to see just how many great choices there are! Boots, sandals, pumps, sneakers….there is truly something for everyone! Some of the labels we found also are doing extraordinary things. One of the standouts was Toms and their One for One Program that gives one pair of shoes to a child in Ethiopia and Argentina for every pair bought. Wow! So far they have given over 60,000 pairs of shoes to children in need! Wow again! Other companies’ commitments to not using animal products, ethical manufacturing and use of environmentally friendly materials while still creating some fabulous footwear is exciting. I actually own a pair of the Terra Plana Banjo boots. The MOST comfortable heel I have ever owned!! They use awesome rubber on the bottom and super sexy. I have the brown pair with recycled quilts. a Must Have!!!!
